Don't call it a comeback
Alright, it's been pointed out to me by a friend that they still check this blog, so as a point of honor, I must start it back up. Aside from work, sleep, and binge drinking, it's not like there's that much that takes up my time, so I should make more of an effort to share my insight with the world.
After all, there are starving children in Canada.
So something from my life the other day, that made me consider the fact that humans truly are social animals - we all feel this connection with our fellow homo sapiens regardless of whether we understand it or not.
I was sitting at a red light on Sawmill the other day, around noon, sun shining, beautiful day, ladi da. I'm in my semi-new truck, which has an actually decent sound system in it, and White Zombie's Thunderkiss comes on the radio, which is on the top of my list to someday karaoke. The old college memories kick in, of Clayton rampaging drunkenly through our living room as this song plays, and I crank it to optimum volume and sing along (windows up).
I look over to the car next to me, and there's a hippy in a vw bug. And he's singing along to the same song (it happened to be on a popular station). I instantly felt a connection to the man. We were sharing the same experience, and it made me feel happy.
So, as any ecstatic human would, I rolled down my window, cranked the music even louder, and smiled at him, flashing the Ozzy devil horns like the redneck geek I am. I felt on top of the world.
And the hippy looked over at me, got an extremely startled look on his face, and punched the gas, taking the first turnoff he came to.
I guess the cosmic bakers took some of us out of the oven a little too early. Some of us can't handle the intimate contact that naturally comes with being in the same place at the same time.
Either that, or I'm just a scary, unkept redneck in a pickup truck. I'll let you be the judge.

People in vans scare easily. Perhaps try connecting with a person in a volkswagon thing. They know how to rock!
